Who Is Jesus To You?

We talk a lot about what Jesus has called us to do. We talk a lot about how we are called to live. We talk a lot about why we ought to have faith. But what about Jesus? Do we talk enough about who He is?

That was a question that came up among the people in Jesus’s day. Many questioned who Jesus was. Many were willing, eager even, to share their view. In Matthew 16:13-16, the Bible says, “Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say that the Son of Man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’”

Who is Jesus to you? Some say a prophet. Some say a good man. Some say a good moral teacher. Sadly, many in our world are ready to accept Jesus as a good man and moral teacher but struggle to see Him for who He really is - the Son of God.

Who is Jesus to you? The Bible says Jesus is a Friend, an Example, an Encourager, a Helper, an Intercessor, a King, and a Savior. This is certainly not an exhaustive list of everything the Bible says about Jesus. But from this list, it is clear to see that Jesus is much more than simply a prophet, good man, or a good moral teacher. Jesus is what everyone needs most - a Savior. Who is Jesus to You?
